Geç kalınan ve meydanlar yerine bir stadyuma gönderilen tarım işçilerinin yürüyüşünde bir kamera-göz panikle eylemde yaşananları ve işçilerin taleplerini öğrenmeye çalışır. Kamera-göz kendi politik bilgisini burada gördüğü simgelere dayatmaya çalıştığını farkedince mahçuplaşan kadrajını yere eğer. Yerde ise evrensel bir akışa kilitlenir. Kadrajdaki akışı kaydederken “Joseph Beuys’un 1 Mayıs 1972’de Berlin’de Karl Marx Caddesi’nde yaptığı video performansı ‘Sweeping Up-Süpürmek’ gibi…” diye mırıldanır aklı. Batı Berlin’de sıradanlaşan emek, sanatçı performansıyla parıldarken, 2018’de Bombay’da sıradan emek yine Batı’dan bir yerden gelen bilincin algısı ile dürtülür. “Şehrin tarım işçileri toplayıcılardır ve onlar…” derken devamını getirmez. Kamera-göz burasını yine ve yine orası ile anlatmaktan vazgeçemez. Geç olmuştur, yükselen toz bilinci uyarır.
A camera-eye tries to know and feel in panic the demonstration of agricultural workers and their demands, who were stacked into a stadium instead of the squares. He puts his frame to the ground, after he got shy of reading the symbols with his political knowledge. He is locked to a universal flow at the ground. While he records the flow, his mind starts to hum along: “This looks like the video performance of Joseph Beuys ‘Sweeping Up’ in Berlin Karl Marx Street in 1 May 1972.” The ordinary labor was shining with the video performance of the artist in West Berlin, while here in Mumbai, the ordinary labor is poked with the consciousness coming from somewhere in the West. He starts humming again “Waste-pickers are the agricultural workers of the cities…” then he stops. The camera-eye can’t give up explaining ‘here’ with the words from ‘there’. It’s getting late, raising dust warns the consciousness.
